Minutes of 11/2011 meeting: motion made by Mary Jane Mumby and seconded to accept the minutes as written. Motion carried.
Treasurer report: Jim Hopkins
Written report submitted in Jim’s absence.
Old Business
Board of Directors- Met twice for planning purposes. Calendar for 2012 meetings/events created. Mailing done to all members: included letter, registration form, updated bylaws, advantages of membership, and 2012 calendar.
Changes for 2012: Sampling Sodus on hold-need to retool/rethink.
Discontinue Halloween Party involvement at BVNH-will hand off to BVNH/with suggestions.
Develop an improved membership database
Restructure to facilitate more member involvement
SET(Sodus Economic Team) Activity Report: Mary Jane Mumby
This is a grass roots group who’s purpose is to encourage new business and make available information to potential new businesses to our area. A list of tangible assets is being developed. Mary Jane has suggested we provide support for a weekly business card-size ad that will be positive and factual tidbits about Sodus. Would welcome facts/tidbits from the area; please get them to Mary Jane. Mary Jane has spoken with local publications. Sun/Record is willing to provide this without charge. The Pennysaver is willing to provide 48 wks for $528.00. Lakeshore news offered to do this for $1.036.00
Motion made by Mary Jane Mumby to secure the ads with the Pennysaver and the Sun/Record. Would also like to offer $200 to Sun/Record for this service. Motion seconded and carried.
Harvest Fest Report: Michelle Kerr
Date is set for Sept 29, 2012. Location has changed this year; the committee is working on getting it back to Main St. Next meeting is 3/6 at Michelle Kerr’s home at 6pm. All ideas are welcome.
Main St Grant: Mary Jane Mumby
Lessord’s “streetscape” is close to completion. There may be funds left over; second round letters sent to businesses. New committee member added: Sue Bilicki.
New Business
Citizen of the Year: 3/5 deadline for nominations/suggestions
April 20 6pm at Sodus Bay Heights for celebration
Scholarship Raffle: Julie Schuldt is accepting donations for raffle items at Curves. Letters being mailed for donations soon. Raffle tickets will be mailed to members . Price the same as last year.
Dinner tickets will be sold at Curves and Fox Law; also may be obtained by mail via chamber address.

Nominations Chairperson/Committee: Patty Paprocki
President will nominate a chair and 2 committee members within the next month.
Misc announcements: WCBC programs-Paul Lowans on BOD and brought info on “Cyber Crime” program; Will be held at WTCC-check out their website for details on programs and meeting ( www.waynecountybusinesscouncil.org)
New school superintendent, Martin Cox was introduced and welcomed to town. Plans to have several “Meet and Greets” –dates and times to be sent to Mary Jane for eblasting.
Sun/Record editor, Wilma Young stated their publication will be celebrating 129 years of continuous business in 2013.
Amy Sedore reported on Wayne Headstart program. Brochures distributed. Sodus contact is Sandy Morgan. This program’s students do 20% better on state tests and 80% go on to attend college.

Reliant in Sodus/Speakers on estate planning
Dinner catered by Pop’s-reservations needed/cost will be $5.00/person
