				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>that Donna McAdoo has been chosen as the 2010 Citizen of the Year.  Donna and her husband Bob live in Sodus Center. She works at Head Start and is extremely active with the Sodus Center Fire Dept. Auxiliary.  The Chamber is also pleased to have selected Paton’s MarketPlace as the recipient of the 2010 Milestone Award for their continuing support of the community and all its organizations.</p>
<p>The public is invited to attend the banquet to honor Donna and Paton’s Market Place along with the 2010 Sodus Rotary AgriBusiness.  The banquet will be held on April 10, 2011 at the Sodus Bay Heights Restaurant. The celebration starts at 6:30 pm with cocktails, followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.  Dinner tickets for the steamship round buffet are advanced sale only and are $26.00 per person. They are available at Fox Law Office, Main St. (483-6733), Sodus Curves, Maple Ave, (483-1222), or by contacting the Chamber at 315-576-3818.  Deadline for ticket sales will be 4/1 and no tickets will be available at the door.</p>
<p>The Chamber will also be drawing the winners of the Scholarship raffle throughout the evening (but you need not be present to win).  All proceeds from the raffle go towards scholarships to benefit graduating Sodus students.  Over $10,000  in scholarships have been awarded since 2003 and this year it is hoped to raise even more than. Raffle tickets are three for $10.00 and are available from any Chamber member and the dozens of items are on display at Curves on Maple Ave.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Sodus Chamber of Commerce will again host the third annual Harvest Fest on October 2, 2010 and they are looking to judge the biggest pumpkins and watermelons.  Last year&#8217;s winners were over 150 lbs each!  If growing gigantic pumpkins is more than you want to take on, the Chamber will also be judging &#8220;Big&#8221; ones that weigh less than 100 pounds.  There will be an adult division (18 and over), youth division (grades 5 to 12) and Kids (grades K-4) with first, second and third place ribbons in each.  If your harvest goes astray we will also be featuring &#8220;Freaky Fruits&#8221; on display!  There will be pumpkin dropping and &#8220;chuckin&#8221; but not for the wining ones unless permission is given, in addition to pumpkin and apple carving, watermelon seed spitting contest and more fun for the whole family.</p>
<p>Other plans for Harvest Fest, which will be held on Sodus Central School grounds, include a baking contest for adult and youth divisions with ribbons awarded.  A parade of just about anything you want to parade, from fire trucks, to motorcycles, to antique and classic cars, dogs, cats even chickens if you want.  No prizes just fun for participants and watchers, if you want to join in just contact the chamber for your place in line. </p>
<p>Vendor applications are being taken for just about anything.  Last year&#8217;s vendors had lots of food like warm apple crisp and homemade soup, hots, hamburgs chicken BBQ and more.  The farmer&#8217;s market portion was a big hit as well as the other 20 plus vendors.  This year transportation will be provided around the track and secure lockers for the goods you purchase so you don&#8217;t have to carry it around.  Click here for more information on vendors applications<span style="font-size: large;">, or call the chamber at 315-576-3818, or email chamber14551@yahoo.com.</span></p>
