Vendor letters need to be sent out; Jane Hopkins has completed a master .data base and Steve & Mary Zonneville will send out letters and registrations.
Parade; Mary Jane will do a “registration” form with details as to start time and place (Methodist Church) and finish line at Curtis Ave near student parking since Reliant is now open on Saturdays. Line up at 9:45, start at 10, Main to Mill to Curtis,
Need to find out if Methodists will be doing breakfasts and if so advertise it to parade participants.
Children’s parade on track? Who will organize, need to talk to school. Suggestion made by Mary Z to have a “scarecrow” contest for each grade (even high school) and then do a scarecrow parade around track. Each glass could make/carry a banner etc. Primary kids would all get ribbons, other prizes and judges TBD.
Transportation around track: Jerry Beckens wagon or Kelley has a lead on a very low (easy access) one. Kelley’s tractor will be driven by Steve LeRoy, Steve Zonneville, and Dick Mumby.
Donation letters to be sent in June to area corporations/businesses.
Raffle – Mary Z will acquiring items for raffle with at least $100.00 value, Kelley A will be donating a chainsaw or other garden equipment, Blossom View is donating a $100.00 gift basket, Mary Jane to contact Lessords for oil changes, Mary Z to contact golf club, area landscapers etc. Goal is to have items ready to display at Sampling Sodus on May 16.
Demos and events
Pumpkin Chuckin do we have the catapults? Invite other schools to bring/make one.

Live wire demo by RG&E – Kelley will coordinate
Rent a tote – who will coordinate/monitor- Mary Jane to contact Karen Cline to see if older girl scouts would be interested.
Contests:
Watermelon spitting – Mason’s to coordinate and provide watermelons
Bike races? Hold on track not at school, we furnish the trikes – Jason Davis to be contacted
Coloring contest – open to all school kids (K-12); pick up picture at area merchants, need place to display and need a judge – need handler
Baking Contest – want to add a “kids” category for K-3 class rooms to enter, youth division will be grades 4 to 12, and also keep adult division. Mike to check with Marcia Cottrell to be head judge again this year. Ribbons will be awarded to all the K-3 kids, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons in other two divisions. Other prizes TBD.
Growing contest -Advertise no “chuckin” without permission, where and when to drop off – (Mike to see about fork lift),
Mike to contact Grandpa’s, Country Hardware and DeFishers about giving away free seeds again this year.
Contest to guess weight of largest pumpkin – 25 cents a chance to guess and Chamber will collect money and winner will receive the proceeds, winner will be announced after the Fest in a follow up press release with pictures etc.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons to be awarded for both pumpkin and watermelons (no sunflowers)
Freaky Fruits – contest to bring in the oddest looking organic fruit or vegetable – need handler
Pumpkin painting/carving – bring in to be judged; will ask Mary Piekunka to judge
Apple tossing contest – maybe in to a big pumpkin and have roll out the mouth – need handler
