Kelley Allen opened the meeting at 7:00pm by leading the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

GUESTS:

George Gushue discussed the conditions of the sidewalks on Mill St to Main St. and high bushes and a tree that obstructs vision on Mill and Grove.  Kelley will look into these issues and get back to George.

Jim Hopkins discussed the Harvest Festival.

David Englert, on behalf of the Village Planning Board, needs a formal letter requesting a recommendation on the Durban Group’s request to rezone the property on the corner of Main and Belden from residential to commercial.

Mary Ann Riker informed us all that the farmer’s market will open June 13, 2012.

Sharon Lilla of Barton & Loguidice discussed Asset Management.  “Needs Assessment” is $7,500.  Someone will contact Sharon with decision.

 

REPORTS:

The reports submitted by  Code Enforcement, Police Department, Fire Department, Street Department, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant were noted.

Mark Gelina reported that the meter repair was done and found that the meter was wrong.   There is a quote from Vellano to replace the meter for $5,100.00.  The Town of Sodus would pay for half.  Trustee John Hopkins will contact the Town of Sodus.

Trustee John Hopkins, seconded by Trustee Lynne Littlefield to expend $2,550.00 for the new meter.  Hopkins, Littlefield, Laird and Rowe vote aye.  Passed.

Board approved the time change from 6:00 am – 2:30 pm for the summer due to the heat for the Street Dept, Water and Waste Treatment Plant employees.

Aaron Bissell reported that Bob Elliott will be sending the bid specs for the new RAS pump.

Trustee Lynne Littlefield, seconded by Trustee John Hopkins motioned to approve NY State Fence for $6,280.00.  Littlefield, Hopkins, Laird and Rowe aye.  Passed.

Trustee John Hopkins, seconded by Trustee Lynne Littlefield to approve ARM Industries for painting for $16,584.00.  Littlefield, Hopkins, Laird and Rowe aye.  Passed.

Trustee Brenda Rowe, seconded by Trustee Lynne Littlefield motioned to approve the following change to voucher 531:

Amount changed from $1,133.32 to $1,416.65

 

MINUTES:

Trustee John Hopkins asked to amend the May 8, 2012 minutes to state that he was absent.  Trustee Brenda Rowe, seconded by Deputy Mayor Jared Laird moved to approve the minutes from the May 8, 2012 Regular Meeting as submitted.  Hopkins, Laird, Rowe and Littlefield vote aye. Passed.

 

ABSTRACT:

Trustee Brenda Rowe, seconded by Deputy Mayor Jared Laird moved to approve payment for Abstract #13:  General Fund $13,552.02, Water Fund $122,581.74 and Sewer $9,925.31 & Abstract 1 in the following amounts:  General Fund $55,666.39, Water Fund $12,263.52 and Sewer Fund $11,151.50. Rowe, Laird, Littlefield and Hopkins vote aye. Passed.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

Neighborhood Watch:  next meeting, 6/14/12 at 7pm

Trustee Brenda Rowe, seconded by Deputy Mayor Jared Laird to merge the procurement and the purchasing policies.  Littlefield, Hopkins, Laird and Rowe vote aye.  Passed.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Trustee Brenda Rowe, seconded by Trustee John Hopkins, to approve the budgetary transfers.  Hopkins, Rowe, Littlefield and Laird vote aye.  Passed.

Discussion was brought about hiring a new attorney.

 

MEMBER ITEMS:

Mayor Kelley Allen said we should look into seeing how much it would cost to hire a locksmith to open up the safes under the stairwell.  We will see if there are any combinations in the Village Clerk’s office.

Trustee John Hopkins discussed a seminar on Digital Towpath and asked Karen Cline to get more information on it.

Trustee Lynne Littlfield, seconded by Trustee John Hopkins, motioned for new office equipment in the amount of $1,529.92.  Littlefield, Hopkins, Laird and Rowe vote aye.  Passed.

Trustee Brenda Rowe thanked Mark and everyone who executed the plans for the park.  The Garden Club was really appreciative.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION:

Trustee Brenda Rowe, seconded by Deputy Mayor Jared Laird moved to go into Executive Session at 9:26pm for a personnel issue.  Rowe, Hopkins, Littlefield and Laird vote aye.  Passed.

Executive Session began at 9:28 pm.

Trustee Brenda Rowe, seconded by Deputy Mayor Jared Laird moved to adjourn Executive Session and reconvene the regular meeting.  Rowe, Hopkins, Littlefield and Laird vote aye. Passed

Executive Session ended at 9:33 pm.

After discussion, Trustee Brenda Rowe, seconded Deputy Mayor Jared Laird, motioned to grant the Town of Sodus permission to alter the Court room to adjust air flow at the Town’s expense.  Rowe, Laird, Littlefield and Hopkins vote aye.  Passed.

Deputy Mayor Jared Laird, seconded by Trustee Lynne Littlefield moved there being no further business the meeting be adjourned. Laird, Littlefield, Hopkins and Rowe vote aye. Passed.

The meeting adjourned at 9:45pm.
