General Meeting

June 1, 2023

 

In attendance:  Sandra Hamilton, Jane Hopkins, Kim Hopkins, Beth Ares, Nancy Ross Patty Paprocki, Kari Hopkins, Chris Hopkins, Kate Pobel-Illin, Chrissie Pobol Illum, Bethany Viau, Eva Winter, Karli Starczewski, Sara Wheaton, Michele Kerr, Adrienne Kerr, Christina Kariuk, Amanda Burman, Karen Rawden, Tom Vankouwenberg, Jennifer Vankowenberg

Meeting called to order at 6:15 pm.  Introductions of attendees made.

Treasurers report read accepted as is.

  1. Web design.

Jim announced that the back side of the new web site has been completed.  He hopes to have the front end completed by the end of June.  He will keep us updated.

  1. Tour de Cure

Nancy Ross announced that as is ready.  The tents will be delivered and set up, she has volunteers, however, will accept more.  If interested please give her a call at 585/314-6125.  The being held on Saturday, June 10th.  They bike riders will be stopping at the Wallington Fire Department for refrehers.

 

  1. Sodus Scholarship

The Awards will be given at the Sodus Field house on Friday, June 9th at 7:00 pm

Three Scholarships to be given in the amounts of $500.00, $300.00 and $300.00

  1. Harvest Fest – Chris Hoopkins
  2. 37 paid vendors
  3. $10.00 from every application goes to Much Live organization
  4. County made a large red sign to go on 104 for Harvest Fest
  5. New banner being ordered for across Main Street
  6. Refer to Facebook to get applications. Chamber web application has not been updated.
  7. Career Days
  8. October 25, 2023/Sodus Field House
  9. Pam Helmers office will have representation there.
  10. Encompasses grades 6 – 12

  2. June 8 – 10  Sodus Library hard cover book sale
  3. Sodus Farm market to begin on Wednesdays from 2:30pm – 6:00pm
  4. June 17th Sweet Indulgence in Wolcott event with Salt Box
  5. June 17th Sodus Juneteenth Celebration in Village
  6. June 19th Joy center Juneteenth Proclamation
  7. Tom and Jennifer Vankowenberg introduced us to their wine making and wine tasting.

Operating hours are currently Friday/Saturday 11:00am – 5:00pm  Their summer hours will begin the end of June and will be Thursday – Saturday, 11:00 am – 5:00pm
