Sodus, NY Chamber of Commerce Annual Scholarships

Since 2003 we have awarded over $18,000 to Sodus High School Seniors heading for 2 or 4 yr colleges or technical schools.

Annually at our Citizen of the Year Banquet, we conduct a raffle to raise funds for our scholarship fund. Each year businesses and citizens donate items to be raffled off. Students make application and submit essays that inform the selection committee of their intention to venture into a business related field. 2-3 scholarships are awards in early June at the awards night at the high school. One of these scholarships has been given in memory of Ernie Piekunka, a previously named Citizen of the year, a war veteran and a business owner in Sodus.
